The Comparative Research Programme on NGOs seeks to improve understanding of the roles, relations and impact of development NGOs. Through a number of interrelated activities including theory development, research, policy analyses, convening and dissemination, the programme seeks to contribute meaningfully to the theoretical and policy discussions on NGOs. Institutionally located at the Centre for Development Studies, the Programme involves collaboration between the University of Bergen (Centre for Development Studies and the Stein Rokkan Centre for Social Studies) and CMI. In addition the programme collaborates with a number of Norwegian and international researchers and institutions interested in the topic.
