Anthropologist with broad experience from research and consultancy in East Africa, Tanzania in particular. Lange is currently working on a two year post-doctoral which is part of the project Health Worker Motivation, Availability and Performance (MAP), funded by the Norwegian Research Council (2006-2011). Other research interests include accountability, governance, decentralization, and political processes at the local level. Lange has also worked extensively on cultural issues, including both independent, urban entertainment forms like Swahili soap operas, and donor funded music and theatre projects in Africa and Asia.
