Professor Basanta K. Pradhan is a distinguished academic commentator on macroeconomic policy in India. He will give a talk on the broad topic of economic development in India, which is expanding at the second fastest rate among the major economies of the world.
Pradhan is heading the Development Planning Centre at the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi. He is responsible for monthly forecasts of key macroeconomic indicators for the Indian economy at the IEG, and has worked extensively on macroeconomic policy and development issues.
