From Metema, the border area between Ethiopia and Sudan, 2018. Kiya Gezahegne

Project members Oliver Bakewell (Impact Director at Global Development Institute) and Kiya Gezahegne (ethnographic researcher from the University of Addis Ababa) have released a podcast. In the podcast, they discuss migration practices along the Ethiopia-Sudan border. They also delve into their experiences of researching migration practices and their personal motivations for researching migration. 

Kiya and Oliver have worked together on multiple projects exploring local migration realities and policy effects.  In this episode, they draw interesting observations by setting Ethiopian and European contexts side by side.
