The evaluation was commissioned by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was carried by representatives of the Norwegian Institute of Nature Research, Unversiteit Amsterdam, University of Botswana, University of Tromsø and CMI.Botswana and Norway have since 1988 cooperated in the implementation of the Remote Area Development Programme (RADP) in Botswana, which aims at improving the standar of living of that part of the rural population which lives outside the established and recognized villages. The funds made avaible by Norway for this purpose were exhausted in 1994. The evaluation look at RADP as rural development, the organization and administration of RADP and the possibilities for future cooperation between Botswana and Norway. The evaluation was published by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995.
