Our recent successful webinar launched the new research project ‘Effects of Externalisation: EU Migration Management in Africa and the Middle East’ (EFFEXT). If you missed the webinar, you can watch below or via this link

In the webinar, project researchers discussed how EU externalisation policies impact migration management in the Middle East and Africa, and how this can be studied through the perspectives of stakeholders in the Global South.

Cathrine Talleraas (project leader, CMI) presented the project. This was followed by a panel discussion including Oliver Bakewell (GDI, University of Manchester), Ida Marie Vammen (DIIS, Copenhagen), Joseph Teye (Centre for Migration Studies, University of Ghana) and Nasser Yassin (American University Beirut).

We were delighted that sixty people attended the webinar, and participated with insightful questions and comments for the project team.
