After several rounds of qualitative fieldwork across the case countries, the EFFEXT team is currently conducting a survey in Ghana. The survey builds on the qualitative data collection and preliminary findings from the area, and tries to get deeper insights on the effects of specific migration policy initiatives. We are particularly interested in how specific policy initiatives are perceived in local target communities.

After piloting the survey in March, the highly experienced team of enumerators, field supervisors and coordinators have now been part of a two-day training session, where we have discussed key concepts and local language translation. We have practiced sampling and interview techniques and are now ready to enter the field – and stay there for a few weeks.
