War in Sudan - Bergen Global

Sudan is at war. The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are fighting for control over state power and economic resources.

With generals Burhan (SAF) and Hemedti (RSF) unwilling to budge, the Sudanese people are effectively under siege.

Ceasefires have been broken the second they were declared, and people taking shelter in their homes are running out of water, food and medicines. The humanitarian needs are getting desperate. Thousands are fleeing for the borders, but meet many obstacles.

What does it take for the generals to put down their weapons? What can, and is being done, by the Sudanese people themselves and how can we support them? And what role should and can the international community, including Norway, take?
