Mai Palmberg and Carita Backström are the co-editors of ‘KulTur i Afrika’ (Culture in Africa), a book in which they share their and other researchers’ recurring encounters with African authors, pictorial artists, musicians, filmmakers, dancers and actors. The book, in Swedish, contains material from encounters with practicing artists as well as researchers’ overviews and analyses. The basic idea is that contemporary culture in Africa is an important element in the dialogue about the future of Africa and the world.
