Concept note on Training on Governance in the Petroleum Sector
This project is about making a concept note for Petrad to develop a training course for civil society in new petroleum producing countries. The concept note is developed in cooperation with Petrad and Norad (Oil for Development, OfD) for the purpose of developing a 2-week course on governance, accountability, transparency, and anti-corruption. The course is targeted mainly for active members of civil society, broadly speaking, including parliamentarians, journalists targeting the extractive industries, and potentially also (energy) academics.
This concept note develops the following elements; background for and purpose of the course, summary of lessons learned on similar courses held by Petrad, selecting countries, identifying needs and target groups, partnerships, and technicalities.
