Can social rights litigation contribute to more equitable and socially sustainable development outcomes?  This chapter investigates the potential of public interest litigation to advance social rights and channel the voices of marginalized people into social policy processes.  In doing so, it identifies factors that condition the various stages of the litigation process, accounting for its failure or success.
