The chapter analyses the Islamists role in creating and deepening inequality in Sudan. The chpater focuses on internal rifts, corruption, and the manipulatin of ethnic and political fabric in Sudan in a bid to consolidate and entrench power. The Islamists' polcies of divide and rule not only divided Sudan but also led to divisions among the Islamists, and to their downfall in 2019.
