Fairness and global inequality

    We know that there are huge differences between rich and poor people in the world. Hence, major questions for economists, other social scientists and policy makers are "how large are these differences?" and "are they increasing or decreasing over time?". However there is no consensus regarding how to answer these questions. Different studies give very different answers. Ingvild Almås gives her insight in this lecture.

    Ingvild Almås is an Associate Professor in economics at the Department of Economics, NHH Norwegian School of Economics. She is also attached to The Choice Lab at NHH and ESOP at the University of Oslo as a researcher. Almås, the Nils Klim Prize winner in 2013, is primarily conducting research on cost-of-living and income measurement, experimental economics and fairness and redistribution.
