The current refugee and migrant crisis has prompted a massive media attention, upstaged the EU’s asylum policies and reshaped Norway’s humanitarian assistance. The scale and implications of the new wave of migrants has led to calls for new research initiatives, as well as a general demand for more knowledge about its causes and consequences. We believe that researchers at CMI and the University of Bergen, as well as an international network of peers, are well placed to do exactly this. This meeting will discuss how to promote migration research at CMI and UiB that responds to regional and international migration crises.
