What is it like to be a female judge? What are the incentives and obstacles that women face on the road to judgeship in different societies? And does it make a difference – to the operation of the court, its legitimacy or its judgments – whether there are women judges on a court – and how many they are?

In this session Ruth Rubio Marin (University of Sevilla and European University Institute) will interview Lydia Mugambe (Justice of the High Court of Uganda, who previously worked as legal officer and council with the UN International Tribunal for Rwanda). This is part of the LawTransform project “Women on the Bench”.

This event is part of the Bergen Exchanges on Law and Social Transformation. This event is free and open to all. Light lunch will be served.
