Foreign bribery and money laundering, time for reparation

Countries recover huge sums of money from companies to settle cases of bribery overseas. These countries — usually developed, wealthy nations — are under no obligation to use the fines for the public good. Nor must they use them to help combat corruption or return them to people in developing countries harmed by illicit practices. Steps towards greater justice could involve governments establishing dedicated funds and a reparation mechanism
