Epidemiologist focusing on communicable diseases, nutrition and health services
Eskindir Loha Shumbullo obtained his PhD from the University of Bergen, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in 2013. He has worked as associate professor at Hawassa University (Ethiopia), assistant professor in Medical Statistics at LSHTM (UK) and head of statistics at Africa Health Research Institute (South Africa).
Eskindir was the Ethiopian coordinator of the NORHED project “South Ethiopia Network of Universities in Public Health (SENUPH): improving women’s participation in post-graduate education.” He had also coordinated the cluster randomized controlled trial of malaria preventions funded by the Research Counsel of Norway.
He is involved in the supervision of PhD students and has played a role in the development of Joint-PhD programme between the University of Bergen and Hawassa University.
