Political scientist specialising in development and human rights
Malcolm Langford is a Senior Researcher at CMI and and Co-Director of the Centre on Law and Social Transformation, University of Bergen and CMI. He is also the Co-Director, Global School on Socio-Economic Rights, Co-Coordinator, Metrics for Human Rights and Chair of Judgment Watch. He leads a range of other research consortiums and acts an advisor to different UN bodies, governments and NGOs. He is currrently a Visiting Scholar at the Fridtjof Nansen Institute.
Previously, Langford was a Research Fellow at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, Director of its Socio-Economic Rights Programme (2010-2014) and Leader of the Human Rights and Development Research Group, Faculty of Law, University of Oslo (2007-2009). He was also a Senior Legal Officer at the Centre on Housing Rights and Evictions, Geneva (2001 to 2006) and has been a Visiting Fellow at the University of California (Berkeley) (2013), University of Mannheim (2006), University of Stellenbosch (2010) and University of NSW (2009).
