This week, we officially kicked off the ADAPT project, bringing together the project consortium for a full day of discussions and planning.
The kick-off included a public breakfast seminar on climate change adaptation and migration in the Global South, with more than 20 people attending in person (despite the Bergen rain!) and a further 24 joining online, with presentations and insights shared by Jon Einar Flåtnes (CMI), Ninna Nyberg Sørensen (DIIS) and project members Andreas Forø Tollefsen (University of Oslo) and Christian Neumann (Strømme Foundation/Fattigdomsbekjemper).
Following the seminar, the full ADAPT consortium came together to discuss the project's research approach, the study contexts in Uganda and Nepal, plans for the spatial analysis and ensuing survey, and collaboration across the consortium, as well as the next stages of the project.
It was great to finally meet as a full team, and the high level of expertise and engagement made for a promising start to collaboration across the project's research and practitioner partners.
