End Review of the Fish for Development Programme in Ghana
The objective of the review was to assess results, challenges and lessons from the Norwegian Fish for Development (FfD) programme in Ghana over the period 2019–2025.
The FfD Ghana programme was implemented through institutional cooperation between Norway’s Institute of Marine Research and the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, and Ghana’s Fisheries Commission (FC) under the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (MoFAD).
The overall finding was that the programme has laid important groundwork for sustainable fisheries and aquaculture management in Ghana, with significant achievements in technical capacity, data systems and regulatory frameworks, while programme steering, coordination, financing and results reporting can be further strengthened to secure long-term outcomes.
