The project is part of a larger program at the Centre for International Health, University of Bergen, which focuses on child nutrition in Bhaktapur, Nepal. The CMI project is a broader study of economic factors that may explain the variation in the composition of the food-basket, and the effects on health outcomes for households in Nepal, using national level household data from 1995 and 2003. This allows us to study changes in nutritional intake over time, including differences between socio-economic groups, as well as regional differences within Nepal. The final aim is to identify effective policies that may improve the nutritional status of the poor.
