Economist focusing on social policy implementation and women's career choices.

Viola's primary research agenda concerns social policy implementation and women's career choices in contexts with rigid gender norms. She is also a principal investigator at the Cluster of Excellence "Politics of Inequality" at the University of Konstanz and at the Inclusion Economics India Centre (formerly Evidence for Policy Design India).  Viola completed her PhD in the research group on Political Economy and Development at the University of Zurich and was a Visiting Doctoral Researcher at New York University and at the Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies at Bocconi University.
