Southern Africa: In search of a common future. From the conference to a community
Gaborone: SADC 239 p.
This book describes the foundation of SADCC and the history of its first ten years, and its transformation into the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The role of the new SADC is discussed with particular reference to the dramatic changes taking place in member states, South Africa and the world at large. The authors have inspected correspondence and papers which were previously unavailable. In addition, extensive interviews have been undertaken with key figures involved in the history and development of the organisation.
