Hilde Selbervik

U4 Director

Contemporary historian with a keen interest in development policy and outcomes.

Hilde Selbervik is the Director of The U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre. 

She has held various leadership positions throughout her career, including serving as both Research Director and Deputy Director at the Chr. Michelsen Institute.

Previously, she was the co-director of the Development Learning Lab, where the focus is to promote greater impact on the ground through evidence-based knowledge in collaboration with development partners.

In 2022/2023, she was a member of a committee appointed by the Norwegian government to examine how Norway can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, resulting in the report Investing in a common future.

Serbervik's research interests include development assistance, aid policies, global public goods, human rights, economic and political reforms, and international aid negotiations. Education and dissemination are close to her heart. She also has a background as a teacher and educator and have previously held a position as Associate Professor at the University of Bergen.
