Sociologist focusing on adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender perspectives.
Svanemyr is post doc researcher at CMI and Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care, University of Bergen. Svanemyr obtained his PhD at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, based on a dissertation on induced abortion and gender relations in Côte d’Ivoire. He has working experience from Norad, the World Health Organization, the University of Oslo and as an independent consultant. Specific areas of interest are child marriage, female genital mutilation and sexuality education. He is currently involved with the CISMAC programme on early childbearing, marriage and school dropout in rural Zambia.
