Robert Forster

Adviser (U4)

U4 Advisor with interest in governance, natural resources, and conflict.

Robert is a dedicated research professional with ten years of experience in academia and the third sector, focusing on peacebuilding, human rights, and migration. Currently an advisor at the U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre, he works on climate, natural resources, and conflict portfolios, applying his skills in project management and research to contribute meaningfully to these areas.

His academic path led him to a Ph.D. candidacy at the University of Bergen, where he is completing his doctoral studies on displacement and governance issues in Lebanon. He holds degrees in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh and Political Science from Victoria University of Wellington. Robert’s fieldwork in Egypt and Lebanon helped him develop expertise in qualitative research methodologies.

Robert has actively engaged with NGOs throughout his career, both professionally and as a volunteer. He remains committed to impactful research and advocacy, maintaining associations with key academic and humanitarian organizations. Previous affiliations include Edinburgh Law School, Institut français du Proche-Orient, International Centre for Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Policy (UCL), and the Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Translation (Cairo).
